These are the newest 2 items exported by the company. Stone fruits are planted in the company's desert farm in the western desert “Nubareya and Wadi El-Natroun” .
With an area of 50 hectares the production is about 600 tons yearly and expected to increase to reach up to 1200 tons, with 3 different varieties " Florida Prince, Desert Red and Swelling " .
The export season starts in April and ends in June. All the peaches are hand selected, graded and packed in the company's packing house in “NUBAREYA" , then pre-cooled and shipped by air or by reefer containers.
As for the pomegranates, it became a big exportable item especially for the Eastern European market "Russia , Belarussia , Estonia and Latvia " . The pomegranates are mainly grown in Upper Egypt near Aswan in "Asuit Governorate", the main variety is called “Manfalouty" .
The pomegranates are also contracted with big suppliers, they are either transported to the packing house to be packed, pre-cooled and shipped, or are packed directly in the fields then pre-cooled and shipped. They are all shipped by reefer containers to all destinations.
In 2008, 10 hectares as a trial area will be planted in the company's desert farm in “Wadi El Natroun" .
The season starts in August for the fresh and in October for the cold stored pomegranates.
